Direction Is a Decision Before It Is Data

Tracking tools usually begin by collecting more observations. Azimuth begins by asking for one deliberate setting. That reversal is useful when the missing thing is not information but a decision about what to pay attention to.

The ring is a coordinate for a note, not a measurement of a person. Moving the marker and readout together gives the choice a visible consequence.
